Chittorgarh Fort

The Chittor Fort or Chittorgarh is one of the largest forts in India. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fort was the capital of Mewar and is located in the present-day town of Chittor. It sprawls over a hill 180 m in height spread over an area of 280 ha above the plains of the valley drained by the Berach River.

Vijaya Stambha

The Vijaya Stambha is an imposing victory monument located within Chittorgarh fort in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, India. The tower was constructed by the Mewar king, Rana Kumbha, in 1448 to commemorate his victory over the combined armies of Malwa and Gujarat led by Mahmud Khilji. The tower is dedicated to Vishnu.

Gaumukh Kund

Gaumukh Kund is a sacred water body situated on the western part of the famous Chittorgarh Fort. 'Gaumukh' literally means the 'mouth of a cow'. The water flows by the cracks in the rocks and in due course, falls into the reservoir. Located within Chittorgarh fort, the Gomukh Kund is also known as 'Tirth Raj' of Chittorgarh.

Meera Bai Temple

The Meera temple Chittorgarh quite literally stands in the shadow of another huge temple that was originally built for Varaha, the third avatar of Vishnu.
